Bhai Chali Sasariye is a 2001 Rajasthani language film directed by K.K. Arya, starring Naseeruddin Shah in the lead role of an old man who falls in love with a young woman, played by late actress Padmini Kolhapure. This love story is set in the deserts of Rajasthan and is about an old man named Purushottam who falls in love with a 17-year-old girl named Pushpa. He was tricked into bringing her to his own house by his mother Kahaniya Bai, only to find out that Pushpa has been promised to someone else and Purushottam's family wants nothing to do with this girl. He is seen as a foolish old man by the villagers. The old man has a son named Kishan, who doesn't respect his father and loves Pushpa. His wife leaves him and the old couple is left to live alone in their desert home. After Pushpa's marriage Pushpa comes to live with her husband's family and continues her life as a village girl, but her feelings won't be denied and she begins to have feelings for Purushottam. There are two sub-plots in this film. First is that of Pushpa's brother, who wants to marry her. When she refuses, he tricks the family into thinking that Purushottam has requested them to take Pushpa as his wife. The other sub-plot is of a TV reporter who falls in love with the old man's daughter Padmini Kolhapure.The music was composed by Naresh Sharma. Their son Kishan Choudhary has an affair with one of his close friend's wife Pushpa while their other son Babloo is married to a girl named Janki. During their annual vacation to Pushpa's parents' house, Purushottam informs them that he wants them to get married.
